The brief

Trading options and perpetuals involves complex decisions around collateral, margin, execution, and risk. Kyan needed to bring these systems together in one coherent experience—helping traders understand what they could do, what it would cost, and how each trade would affect their portfolio.

The work

I designed the Kyan app end to end, from the first welcome screen to funding an account, building a trade, and managing open positions.

This included the onboarding and wallet-connection experience, deposits and withdrawals, asset selection, swapping and bridging funds, options and perpetuals trading, trade review and confirmation, portfolio-margin information, open orders, positions, transaction history, rewards, and account management.

A major focus was the trading panel and the more advanced workflows behind it—particularly combo trades, where users can combine multiple option legs into a single strategy. I designed the flow for selecting contracts, adjusting each leg, understanding the combined position, reviewing estimated costs and risk, and executing the strategy as one trade.

Across the product, the goal was to reveal complexity progressively: keeping common actions fast while giving experienced traders access to the detailed market, margin, and position data they need.

What shipped

A complete product experience and scalable design system covering the core Kyan trading journey—from entering and funding the app to executing sophisticated multi-leg strategies and monitoring an active portfolio.

The result is a dense financial interface that remains structured, navigable, and clear—even when the underlying trading activity is anything but simple.
